Configuring local devices

There are several types of local devices that you can use in different situations.
  • Simple IP address: a local device with a simple IP address. Use this when you want to specify a particular IP address.
  • Network objects: a device that uses CIDR. Use this when you want to specify an entire IP network.
  • Overlay port group IP/network: a device that automatically acquires either the:
    • IP of the ovrelay port group
    • CIDR of the overlay port group network
Use this to deploy an Airwall Gateway into an environment without the need to log into the Conductor to configure specific IP or network object details.
Note: You can also configure bypass devices (IP/network and hostname). See Local Bypass.
